Student Visa Requirements for the USA

F-1 Visa:
This is the most common type of student visa for academic purposes. It is issued to students who are enrolled in a full-time academic program, such as a university or college. The F-1 visa allows students to stay in the USA for the duration of their academic program and also allows them to work part-time on campus.

J-1 Visa:
The J-1 visa is issued to students who are participating in an exchange program sponsored by their government, a private organization, or an educational institution. It allows students to stay in the USA for the duration of their program and also allows them to work part-time on campus.

M-1 Visa:
The M-1 visa is issued to students who are enrolled in a non-academic or vocational program, such as a trade school or vocational school. The M-1 visa allows students to stay in the USA for the duration of their program but does not allow them to work during their stay.

Optional Practical Training (OPT):
OPT is a program that allows F-1 students to work in their field of study after completing their academic program. Students can work for up to 12 months after graduation, and those in certain STEM fields can apply for an additional 24-month extension.

Curricular Practical Training (CPT):
CPT is a program that allows F-1 students to work off-campus while still enrolled in their academic program. The work must be related to the student's field of study, and the student must receive academic credit for the work.
